Silver Bullet

At Leiden University, and our spin-off company GenLumina, we are working on innovative ways to treat cancer. We develop tiny, DNA-based structures that can target and treat cancer cells with incredible precision. Imagine an automated treatment device that detects cancer on or in the body, and delivers light to effectively treat it with minimal side effects.

The goal is to create treatments that are less invasive, more effective, and affordable. Right now, we’re working on applying this technology to skin cancer, but it has the potential to treat many types of cancer in the future. It’s a mix of biology, nanotechnology, and medicine, all coming together to offer a new way to treat difficult and common diseases.

Ultimately, our vision is to bring advanced treatments to people who need them, improving healthcare and making life-saving therapies more accessible and less stressful for patients. The Biotech Booster programma enables us to jumpstart our development and validation and greatly speed up our path to a finished treatment.
