ABOUT THE COMPANY
Liporyx is spinning out of Eindhoven University of Technology, led by founder Alexander Cook. The company is developing a bioinspired lipid-like polymer platform for targeted delivery of mRNA and other nucleic acid therapeutics – beyond the liver. The technology is modular, broadly applicable and addresses a fundamental bottleneck that limits most RNA therapeutics today.
Liporyx holds a strong IP position with early evidence of organ-selective delivery, and is completing its Biotech Booster program (€200K, National Growth Fund). The incoming CEO steps in at the moment of spinoff – with the science validated, the IP secured, and the mandate to build.
The strategic focus for the next 2-3 years: generate in vivo proof-of-concept, advance lead programs in cancer immunotherapy, and close the first external financing round. The business model combines internal pipeline development with platform licensing and partnerships.
THE ROLE
→ Lead the spinoff process and build the company from the ground up alongside Alexander Cook
and the scientific team
→ Own the fundraising strategy — from grant and early investor engagement through to Series A
→ Develop the investment narrative and position both the platform and the pipeline to the right audiences
→ Drive business development: licensing discussions, pharma/biotech partnerships, and academic collaborations
→ Shape the preclinical roadmap in partnership with the founding team and scientific advisors
→ Build the team and establish the operational foundations of a professional biotech venture
CANDIDATE PROFILE
→ Proven experience building early-stage biotech ventures, ideally preclinical through Series A
→ Strong fundraising track record and an established life sciences investor network
→ Solid understanding of nucleic acid therapeutics, drug delivery, or immunology/immuno-oncology
→ Experience in BD, licensing, and strategic partnership development
→ Comfortable positioning a dual-track model — platform technology and therapeutic pipeline
